Arista Networks, Inc. (NYSE: ANET) disclosed insider stock sales totaling approximately $172.5 million in July, according to Form 4 filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The completed sales involved Director, CEO and Chairperson Jayshree Ullal, 10% owner Andreas Bechtolsheim, and Director Charles H. Giancarlo.
The total excludes proposed-sale filings and counts only completed stock sales reported for July.
Arista Networks provides cloud networking technology, high-speed data center switching, routing platforms, and software-driven network operating systems used by cloud, AI, enterprise, and service provider customers.
The July filings are notable because the completed insider sales exceeded common insider-selling thresholds by a wide margin.
Single insider sales above $1 million are generally worth reviewing, while sales above $5 million tend to draw greater investor attention.
In this case, Arista insiders and major holders reported more than $172 million in completed ANET stock sales during July.
Jayshree Ullal accounted for the largest individual insider total in the July filings.
Ullal sold 242,422 shares on July 9 at an average price of $188.17 per share, valued at approximately $45.6 million.
She then sold another 234,578 shares on July 10 at an average price of $187.18 per share, valued at approximately $43.9 million.
Together, Ullal’s completed July sales totaled approximately $89.5 million.
Andreas Bechtolsheim also reported large July sales.
Bechtolsheim sold 260,000 shares on July 1 at an average price of $164.22 per share, valued at approximately $42.7 million.
He then sold another 240,000 shares on July 2 at an average price of $162.67 per share, valued at approximately $39.0 million.
Together, Bechtolsheim’s completed July sales totaled approximately $81.7 million.
Charles H. Giancarlo also appeared in the July filings.
Giancarlo sold 8,000 shares on July 1 at an average price of $167.06 per share, valued at approximately $1.3 million.
That sale was much smaller than the Ullal and Bechtolsheim transactions, but it added another director to the July insider-selling group.
The July dashboard also showed proposed-sale entries tied to ANET insiders.
Those proposed sales were not included in the $172.5 million total.
That distinction matters because proposed sales should not be counted as completed insider selling unless later Form 4 filings confirm execution.
The cleaner read is that Arista reported approximately $172.5 million in completed July insider sales based on the actual sale filings shown.
Large insider sales do not automatically mean executives or major holders are negative on the company.
These transactions can reflect diversification, liquidity planning, tax planning, estate planning, or pre-arranged trading programs.
Still, the size of the completed July sales, the involvement of senior leadership, and the repeated filings make the activity relevant for investors tracking Arista Networks insider trading.
Insider sales become more meaningful when they exceed common dollar thresholds, involve senior leadership, or appear across multiple insiders in a short period.
