The company has attracted industry veteran Carl J. Bachmann, formerly from a larger burger chain, to join their organization as the new CEO. Bachmann's extensive experience in the burger and pizza spaces, along with his proven track record of brand growth, make him a valuable addition to BurgerFi's leadership team. With his appointment set to begin on July 10th, BurgerFi is ready to embark on an exciting journey of expansion and innovation.

Bachmann's Impressive Background

Before joining BurgerFi, Carl Bachmann served as the President of Smashburger, a renowned custom burger chain based in Denver. During his tenure, Bachmann launched a comprehensive 5-point business plan aimed at accelerating growth. By revamping the organization, rebuilding the leadership team, improving food quality, optimizing real estate, enhancing food safety and cleanliness, and repositioning the brand through effective marketing, Bachmann achieved remarkable results. Smashburger experienced double-digit systemwide same-store sales growth and expanded its corporate and franchise footprint.

Notable Achievements in Previous Roles

Bachmann's expertise extends beyond Smashburger. Prior to his role as President, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Smashburger and held executive positions at other notable brands. As the Senior Vice President of Operations for Bertucci's, a Boston-based brick oven Italian concept, Bachmann successfully improved the company's EBITDA and received the prestigious Executive of the Year award in 2015. His remarkable career also includes a long-term commitment to Ruby Tuesday, where he played a key role in the brand's growth from 80 restaurants to over 1,000. His dedication earned him multiple Chairman's Awards for executive leadership.

Entrepreneurship and Community Involvement

In 1998, Bachmann ventured into entrepreneurship and acquired the rights to the Ruby Tuesday concept on Long Island, NY. As an owner and operator, he grew his portfolio to 10 locations and achieved annual revenues exceeding $26 million. Bachmann's entrepreneurial success led to him being recognized as the Franchisee of the Year twice. Throughout his 12 years as a franchise owner, Bachmann continued to support the organization by assisting with franchise relations, recruiting, training, and developing new franchisees in the U.S. and internationally. Beyond his professional achievements, Bachmann has also been actively involved in his community. He served as Chairman of the Board for the Long Island March of Dimes for an impressive nine years and contributed to the organization's state and national boards.
