S&P Dow Jones Indices Announces Changes to S&P 500, S&P MidCap 400, and S&P SmallCap 600 Indices


S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) has recently revealed upcoming changes to the S&P 500, S&P MidCap 400, and S&P SmallCap 600 indices, which will take effect before the opening of trading on Tuesday, June 20. These adjustments aim to ensure that each index accurately represents its respective market capitalization range. The alterations involve adding companies that better represent the mid-cap and small-cap market spaces while removing those that are no longer representative of these sectors.

S&P 500 Changes

In the S&P 500, Palo Alto Networks Inc. (PANW) will replace DISH Network Corp. (DISH). This change reflects the continued growth and market influence of Palo Alto Networks, a prominent player in the Information Technology sector.

S&P SmallCap 600 Changes

Within the S&P SmallCap 600, DISH Network Corp. (DISH) will replace Cutera Inc. (CUTR). This replacement ensures a more accurate representation of the small-cap market space.

S&P MidCap 400 Changes

Several companies will be added to the S&P MidCap 400, effectively enhancing its representation of various sectors. The companies joining the S&P MidCap 400 are Berry Global Group Inc. (BERY), BWX Technologies Inc. (BWXT), Crown Holdings Inc. (CCK), Doximity Inc. (DOCS), Dropbox Inc. (DBX), Graphic Packaging Holding Co. (GPK), Ovintiv Inc. (OVV), Planet Fitness Inc. (PLNT), WESCO Intl Inc. (WCC), and ZoomInfo Technologies Inc. (ZI).

On the other hand, the companies being removed from the S&P MidCap 400 are Dana Inc. (DAN), Douglas Emmett (DEI), Fulton Financial Corp. (PA) (FULT), Ingevity Corp. (NGVT), John Wiley & Sons Inc. (WLY), Macerich Co. (MAC), Navient Corp. (NAVI), SiTime Corp. (SITM), Sunpower Corp. (SPWR), and Victoria's Secret & Co. (VSCO). These companies are no longer representative of the mid-cap market space.

S&P SmallCap 600 Deletions and Additions

The S&P SmallCap 600 index will witness significant changes, with various additions and deletions. The following companies will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600: Artisan Partners Asset Management Inc. (APAM), California Resources Corp. (CRC), CarGurus Inc. (CARG), Dana (DAN), DISH Network (DISH), Douglas Emmett (DEI), Fulton Financial (PA) (FULT), Ingevity (NGVT), John Wiley & Sons (WLY), Macerich (MAC), Moelis & Co. (MC), Navient (NAVI), Phillips Edison & Company Inc. (PECO), Schrodinger Inc. (SDGR), SiTime Corp (SITM), Sunpower Corp. (SPWR), UFP Technologies Inc. (UFPT), and Victoria's Secret & Co. (VSCO).

Simultaneously, the following companies will be removed from the S&P SmallCap 600: Big Lots Inc. (BIG), Cara Therapeutics Inc. (CARA), Children's Place Inc. (PLCE), Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (CMTL), Cutera (CUTR), DMC Global Inc. (BOOM), Douglas Elliman Inc. (DOUG), Eagle Pharmaceuticals
